Design Details:
For your entryway I kept the design very clean and simple. With a small entryway that opens into the dining room and living area you want to keep the lines of travel free of clutter while still providing a place to hang jackets, bags, and a place to drop keys etc.
A narrow entryway table provides extra storage and a surface to decorate.
I also added shiplap to the bottom portion of your chair railing. This adds a touch of character and charm.
You will also notice the use of black metal accents. This ties everything together and gives a cohesive look.
A faux (or real) fiddle fig and some greenery adds warmth and life to the space.
A jute runner grounds the space and provided a nice feature to separate the space from the dining room.
Hooks provide a place for hanging and the basket for hiding away shoes etc.

Design Details:
For the revision I replaced the table with a floating corbel shelf and a neutral wood mirror giving it a more french country look.
I also removed some of the items making the corbel shelf and mirror the focal point of your entry. Clean, simple and timeless.
