Living in Waco, TX is no longer a requirement to have a little bit of Joanna Gaines' Fixer Upper design in your home. The designer launched her new paint line at the Spring 2016 High Point Furniture Market and released it to the public yesterday. It is now available for purchase at MagnoliaMarket.com. I had the opportunity to visit Magnolia Home's showroom this past week and see the paint samples in person, and they did not disappoint. I pretty much want to repaint my entire house.
As a designer I always tell my clients "changing your paint colors is one of the cheapest and easiest way to completely transform the entire look of your space." But choosing the right paint color is where it gets a little tricky. A normal paint line such as Sherwin Williams has almost 1,500 paint colors and about 150 different shades of blue. This is where I was really impressed with the Magnolia line; the Magnolia paint line has only 25 timeless and classic colors that cover the entire color spectrum fairly well- all personally hand picked by Joanna herself.
While looking over the colors I thought to myself- by limiting the amount of colors she made it so easy for customers to create that custom style without all the stress. I have clients contact me all the time stressing over paint colors or I show up to a home where there are 10-20 different samples painted on the wall. Launching a line with only 25 genuine timeless colors was beyond clever. So for $42-$46 per gallon, depending on finish selection, you can transform your space and give it a little bit of that Fixer Upper style.
But my favorite thing about the line are the names. Each paint name tells a story, like how each of her four children have a color named after them; Sir Drake, Duke Gray, Emmie's Room, and Ella Rose. One color was even inspired by Chip's wedding band, which tells a story of their marriage. Joanna made finding the perfect color for her favorite building material easier by simply naming the perfect warm white "Shiplap."
If you're wondering which color is my favorite in the line.... Emmie's Room is my favorite. Congratulations Joanna your new paint line is amazing!
With love,
