From the moment I pulled into Starlite Farm I knew The Strawberry Patch was a barn sale like no other Plum Pretty had attended. There was Christy Jo assembling a dreamy bohemian style lodge that made me want lounge and watch the clouds pass all day.
This was the very first time I had pulled the enclosed trailer to a show without the assistance of my personal driver a.k.a my husband (well minus The Liberty Antiques Festival- but thats only 20 minutes from my house so that doesn't really count). So of course we had some issues about 2 hours into our 7.5 hour trip when a tire blew out on the trailer. Luckily a very kind man stopped and helped us get the spare on. I couldn't help but laugh when he asked if we were going to a flower show. Because when I let the back gate down to get the spare all you could see was the flowers I was using to stage and decorate my booth with.
We made a pit stop in Morgantown, NC where Clark Tire replaced all my trailer tires in record time and we were on the road again!
Lots of singing along to Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood, a hilarious phone call from a gentleman who thought I had a strawberry patch in TN because my name showed up when he googled strawberry patch, and finally we made it to Starlite Farm right around 5 pm and began setup.
This show was amazing! Picture prefect venue, a host with a even more perfect vision, amazing selection of vendors, delicious food, and lots of happy smiling customers. Don't even get me started on how good the fried green tomato sandwich from Fried Green Tomatoes was.
Loved seeing some familiar TN faces at this show, loved meeting many new faces, and loved forming lots of new friendships. Thank you to each and every person who stopped by and said hello. I will never get tired of hearing "I follow you on Instagram and wanted to stop a say hello." I love knowing that through this small business of mine I inspire others. At the end of the day I may have been tired and itchy from the hay but The Strawberry Patch Barn Sale is among one of my favorite shows. As I drove back 7.5 hours to NC (with the help of a couple Red Bulls) I couldn't help but think how blessed I am for this to be part of my job- attending shows, meeting new people, and making friendships!
With love,
Here are some photos from Plum Pretty's weekend on Starlite Farm at The Strawberry Patch.
